Join us for the Research Connections Speaker Series where we highlight the relationships being built across our teams and the exciting work that is happening in the industries Autodesk serves.

Tune in to learn about Sentient Structures: How Fungi Can Change Our Perception of the Possible from Joshua English of Okom Wrks Labs; hosted by Rama Dunayevich, Global Impact Partnership Lead.

The how and why of mycelium based composites (MBC): The subset of fungal species that work best, the spatial awareness of mycelia, the biochemistry of MBC, and the mycelial matrix - tapping into 600 million years of technological know-how.

Why looking to nature’s blueprints will provide so much promise: Lightweight structures using geometry, better buildings by melding nature and digital design, and the current state of the art.

How this all adds up to decarbonizing the built environment: Why mass timber is a fallacy, why building with agricultural waste and fungi can protect forests and biodiversity as well as sequestering massive amounts of carbon, and how MBC can help dramatically reduce concrete use.

The presentation will be 35 minutes followed by 10 minutes of questions and answers.
